The native distribution of this species spans across South Asia, including regions in Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan. It is typically found in xerophytic conditions, where it plays a critical role in maintaining soil stability and supporting local biodiversity in challenging landscapes.

Botanically, this tree grows up to 10–12 meters and is characterized by its spreading crown, thorny branches, and small, bipinnate leaves.
