Description
Soybean dwarf is a viral disease caused by the Soybean dwarf virus (SbDV), which significantly impacts the health and growth of soybean plants. It acts as a systemic pathogen, disrupting the plant's ability to transport nutrients and perform photosynthesis efficiently.
This virus primarily affects soybean crops, but it may also persist in various leguminous hosts in the wild. The disease is known for its ability to persist in the environment wherever its insect vectors find favorable climatic conditions to thrive and reproduce.
