Description
The Amaranth variety Voronezhsky 36 is an intensive and drought-resistant type recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia. The plants reach a height of up to 112 cm and are characterized by good leafiness of about 37%, as well as a relatively large panicle. The stem is corrugated, green in color with betacyanine pigmentation at the base, leaves are entire-edged, green, without spots and petiole pigmentation. The inflorescence is of the amaranth type, indeterminate, of medium density, vertical or slightly inclined, brown with medium-length pink bracts.
The seeds of the variety have yellow or cream color, spherical shape, and mealy endosperm. The average mass of 1000 seeds is 0.7 g. The yield of green mass reaches 265 centners per hectare, dry matter content — 41.4 centners per hectare, and average seed yield — 24.5 centners per hectare. The period from germination to the first mowing lasts 60–63 days, and to full maturity — 104–106 days. The content of crude protein in absolutely dry matter is 16.4%, and fiber — 19.2%.
The Voronezhsky 36 variety is suitable for use as both green mass and seeds for fodder purposes. In addition, amaranth grain can be used for the production of general, functional, and preventive food products. The seeds are certified and comply with the standard GOST R 55294-2012, which confirms their quality and safety.
