Description
Aster 'Flamingo' is an annual chrysanthemum with large pink flowers, reaching a height of up to 60–70 cm. The plant has a pyramidal shape and typically forms from 10 to 15 flower stalks on each stem. The flowers have a double structure: long ray florets curl towards the center, creating a peony-like inflorescence effect.
For successful cultivation, 'Flamingo' requires a well-lit location and fertile soil – loamy or loamy sand. The plant shows high cold hardiness: it withstands frost down to -3–4 °C, making it suitable for both open ground and sowing at the end of October with mulching using peat or sawdust.
Seeds of 'Flamingo' are usually sown in March–April; after the first pair of true leaves appears, they are transplanted at a distance of 5–5 cm. Seedlings are planted in open ground from mid-May to early June, and autumn sowing is also possible. The plants develop rapidly and are capable of abundant flowering, making them popular for cutting, garden decoration, and bouquet creation.
