Description
Astra Havsky Sunset is a dwarf, compact plant with full double blooms up to 5 cm in diameter. The bush reaches a height of up to 30 cm, making this variety ideal for decorating flower beds, garden plots, and borders, as well as for growing in pots. The inflorescences feature short petals bent outwards that overlap each other, creating an impressive decorative appearance.
This variety belongs to the intermediate type between Rose and Victoria and is characterized by bright red flowers that can bloom simultaneously in quantities of up to 18 on a single plant. Astra Havsky Sunset has high cold hardiness and can withstand frosts down to -3-4 °C, expanding its cultivation possibilities under various climatic conditions. For successful growth, it is recommended to choose well-lit areas with fertile loam or sandy loam soil.
Astras are typically grown using the seedling method: seeds are sown in March-April, pricked out upon the appearance of the first pair of true leaves, and planted in open ground from mid-May to early June. Winter sowing is also possible at the end of October with subsequent mulching and uncovering of seedlings in spring, which hardens the plants and promotes abundant flowering. Astra Havsky Sunset is suitable both for decorative landscaping and for cutting.
