Mileidi scarlet-red

Mileidi scarlet-red is a dwarf variety of the Callistephus chinensis aster, 25–30 cm tall, characterized by compact bushes and sturdy stems. Each shoot produces five to seven double inflorescences of bright red color, 8–12 cm in diameter, resembling small roses. Due to its shape and color, the plant is perfect for decorating flowerbeds, borders, balcony boxes, and pots.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases and adverse weather conditions, as well as an early and prolonged flowering period – from July to September. For successful growth, seeds can be sown for seedlings from late March to mid-April or directly into open ground at the end of April, if the weather permits. Seedlings are transplanted in May, ensuring the plant sufficient light and fertile drained soil of neutral acidity.

When caring for Mileidi scarlet-red, it is important to observe moderate watering, especially in the summer months, as well as periodically loosen the soil and fertilize with mineral fertilizers. The plant is not recommended to be grown in the same place for more than 4–5 years – after that it should be transplanted or replaced to maintain health and decorativeness.
