In developing this variety, the Uman National University of Horticulture focused on maximizing decorative efficiency for cut flower production. Classified as an annual aster, this plant follows a strictly seasonal growth cycle: lacking winter hardiness, it completes its full biological development within one season, channeling all physiological energy into producing robust stalks and large, high-quality blooms.

Technical Development Parameters

• Stem Height: 50–80 cm. This specific length provides an optimal balance between resistance to lodging and ergonomic efficiency for bouquet arrangement.
• Inflorescence Morphology: Semi-spherical form with a diameter of 10–15 cm. This size profile is commercially prioritized in floriculture, ensuring the blossom commands attention within a composition while maintaining structural integrity.
• Color Palette: Saturated pink pigment with high resistance to fading under direct UV exposure.

Practical Application and Agrotechnics

The core advantage of 'Olenka' lies in the stability of the stalk-to-flower junction. The high rigidity of the peduncles allows for versatility: the plants perform exceptionally well in mass garden displays and are equally suitable for professional-grade cutting. As an annual, this variety requires strict crop rotation protocols. To prevent the accumulation of soil-borne pathogens, planting after nightshade crops is not recommended. To achieve maximum bloom diameter (up to 15 cm), it is advised to apply moderate nitrogen fertilization during the early developmental stages, transitioning to potassium-phosphorus supplementation during the budding phase.
