Description
Raspberry Glow – a compact aster with a height of 45–50 cm, featuring an inverse pyramidal bush and double flowers with a diameter of about 8 cm. The flower has a rich raspberry hue, making the plant especially attractive for garden compositions and fresh cuttings.
For growing the 'Raspberry Glow' aster, well-lit areas with fertile loamy or loamy sand soil are suitable. The plant differs in high cold hardiness: it withstands frost down to –3…–4 °C, which allows its use in a temperate climate and even in the south. Seeds are usually sown in March–April, and seedlings are transplanted from mid-May to early June. Winter sowing is possible: seeds are laid in late October at a depth of 5–8 cm and mulched with peat or sawdust.
Care of the plant is simple: after germination, moderate humidity must be maintained, regular watering and weeding are required. To stimulate growth and flowering, mineral fertilizers with microelements (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium) are applied. The aster hardens quickly at the end of April, and the plants become strong and frost-resistant, ensuring abundant and prolonged flowering from July to September. Thanks to its compact growth and bright color, Raspberry Glow is ideal for borders, alpine slides, and as an individual element of a landscape.
