Zarevo

The Astra variety Zarevo is a low-growing plant with a height of 25 to 35 cm, featuring a compact, spherical bush with a diameter of about 30 cm. The inflorescences are double, carmine in color, with a diameter of 4-5 cm, and have tongue-shaped flowers in a boat-like form. Up to 30 bright and saturated flowers can bloom simultaneously on one plant, giving the bush an impressive and abundant bloom. This variety is distinguished by an early start of flowering and a flowering duration of about 35-40 days, making it attractive for long-term decorative use.

Zarevo is characterized by high resistance to fusarium and good cold hardiness, tolerating frost down to -3-4°C. Due to these qualities, the Astra is well suited for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The plant prefers well-lit areas with fertile loam or sandy loam soil, which promotes its healthy growth and abundant flowering.

The Astra variety Zarevo is most often grown using the seedling method. Seeds are sown in March-April, and after the first pair of true leaves appears, the seedlings are pricked out in a 5x5 cm scheme. Seedlings are transplanted to open ground from mid-May to early June. Winter sowing is also possible at the end of October. This variety is widely used for group and border plantings, flower garden decoration, and is also suitable for growing in pots and on balconies due to its compactness and decorativeness.
