Stable yields without excessive fungicide use

When we first introduced the Azalea spring barley from the French breeder Secobra Recherches S.A.S, our main goal was to reduce constant crop treatments. After two seasons of cultivation, it became clear: the French breeders focused heavily on the crop's natural immunity. In weather conditions that are increasingly unpredictable, this two-row barley behaves very reliably.

Field observations

Azalea demonstrates excellent resistance to the key regional threats. In practice, we have effectively forgotten about issues with net blotch and scald (rhynchosporium). Powdery mildew also fails to become a critical factor requiring immediate and costly intervention. We are particularly pleased with how the variety stands up against dwarf rust, which saves us a significant portion of our crop protection budget.

For an agronomist, working with this barley is convenient for several reasons:
