Description
Barley of the bright type, the MIP Mirnyy variety, is a grain crop developed by the Myronivs'k Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and registered in 2017. This variety belongs to mid-early maturing plants with a period from emergence to heading of 54-56 days and medium-height plants, reaching 75-85 cm. It is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones, confirming its adaptability to various climatic conditions in Ukraine.
The MIP Mirnyy variety is characterized by high drought resistance, rated at 8-9 points, as well as enhanced resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring crop preservation and product quality. Additionally, it exhibits resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew, leaf spot, and dwarf rust, with resistance ratings ranging from 6-8 points. The grain is characterized by high kernel size, with 1000-grain weight ranging from 50.0 to 55.6 grams, which is an important indicator for grain use.
