The spring barley variety 'MIP Myroslav' is a result of years of research by the V.M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of the NAAS. This variety was specifically developed for Ukrainian agricultural conditions, where the ability of a crop to adapt quickly to climatic fluctuations and effectively resist pathogens is a key factor for success.

Agronomic profile

The plants reach a height of 80–90 cm, providing an optimal balance between vegetative biomass and lodging resistance. The breeders have focused on grain size: the weight of 1,000 seeds is 46–48 grams. The high grain test weight makes 'MIP Myroslav' a highly sought-after commodity for both feed production and the processing industry.

Protection and resistance

A key feature of 'MIP Myroslav' is its robust field resistance. The variety shows strong defense mechanisms against a wide range of fungal infections:

• Mycosphaerella leaf spot;
• Plant rust (including leaf rust);
• Powdery mildew;
• Brown spot.

This protection profile allows farmers to reduce the number of fungicide applications, lowering production costs without compromising yield quality. The stability of this barley has been verified through years of testing in state trial networks, proving it to be a flexible variety suitable for intensive farming technologies.
