OMSKA YUBILEYNA

OMSKA YUBILEYNA — a mid-season variety of common bean, developed by scientists of Omsk State Agrarian University and adapted to the climatic conditions of Siberia. The vegetative period is 85-90 days, the plant is bushy, medium height — about 40-45 cm, upright and resistant to lodging. Flowers have a pink color, and leaves have a medium intensity of green color. Pods in the early stage of seed growth are light green, uniform, slightly curved, with a transverse section shape from elliptical to oval. Seeds are beige with a brown mottled pattern and a characteristic ring around the hilum, elliptical in shape. The variety is distinguished by high yield — under Omsk region conditions, it reached 29 c/ha, which is 8 c/ha higher than the standard Gornal. Mass of 1000 seeds is 350-370 g. Grain is of medium size, cooks well, is rich in proteins (24.9-25.8%) and starch, which ensures a good culinary assessment. Pods do not crack during ripening, which contributes to crop preservation and ease of storage. Omsk Yubileynaya bean has high adaptability to adverse conditions, including drought and low temperatures, as well as weak susceptibility to anthracnose. This bean variety is valued for stable yield and high grain quality, which makes it in demand for growing in the Siberian region. Thanks to its taste qualities and nutritional value, Omsk Yubileynaya bean is suitable for wide application in cuisine.
