Description
This variety is a radiation mutant of the cherry 'Orlovskaya Amber No. 768'. Originator — All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Selection. Authors: A.F. Kolesnikova, A.V. Zavyalova, E.N. Dzhigadlo, A.A. Gulyaeva, Z.E. Ozheryelova. Under state variety testing since 2001.
Tree of medium growth vigor, up to 3.5 m tall, pyramidal, spreading, raised, medium density. Shoots medium, straight, yellowish, bare. Bark on trunk and main branches smooth, gray. Bud 4 mm, egg-shaped, slightly deviated from the shoot. Leaf oval, green. Apex gradually pointed, base wedge-shaped, serration double-toothed. Leaf blade surface matte. Stipules 3-4, located at base of leaf blade and on petiole. Petiole 46 mm long, 2.8 mm thick, with weak anthocyanic coloration at base. Bears fruit on cluster branches and fruiting twigs.
Fruits weighing 3.6 g, heart-shaped, 21 mm high, 20 x 21 mm in diameter. Pit narrow, small, fruit apex medium-elongated. Fruits yellow. Flesh yellow, medium density, juicy, juice colorless. Pedicel long. Pit broadly elliptical, 0.2 g in weight, which constitutes 5.6% of fruit mass. Light-yellow coloration, apex pointed, base rounded. Pit separates easily from flesh.
Fresh fruit taste evaluation: 4.3 points. Fruit detachment from pedicel medium. Dessert variety. Fruits contain 14.0% soluble solids, 10.4% sugars, 0.4% acids.
Flowering in mid-season (May 10-15). Fruit ripening in mid-season (July 15). Enters fruiting at 4 years. Self-sterile. High winter hardiness, medium flower bud cold resistance. Relatively resistant to coccomycosis and moniliosis. Average yield 75.2 centners/ha, maximum 127.8 centners/ha.
Advantages: winter hardiness, restrained growth, high taste qualities.
Disadvantages: relative resistance to coccomycosis.
