Description
The 'Friendship' cherry variety is a medium-late maturing fruit, developed by Ukrainian breeders at the Irrigated Horticulture Institute of UAAN in Melitopol. Trees of this variety are characterized by vigorous growth and form a spherical, raised crown, which ensures good ventilation and fruit illumination. The fruits are large, weighing from 9 to 11 grams, with medium-thick dark red skin that easily separates from the flesh. The flesh is light red, juicy, and has a tart-sweet flavor, making the cherries appealing for fresh consumption.
The 'Friendship' variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, allowing successful cultivation under various climatic conditions. However, it should be noted that this variety has weak resistance to coccomycosis, so regular care and preventive measures are required to protect against diseases. Cherries prefer well-lit areas with fertile soil and require regular watering and fertilization to ensure high yields.
'Friendship' cherry saplings are widely used both in private gardens and in commercial plantations. Trees begin fruiting on the 3rd to 4th year after planting, allowing relatively quick harvest. Due to their flavor qualities and large fruits, this variety is popular among gardeners and consumers.
