Description
Cherry variety Melitopolskaya Dessertnaya is a high-yielding tree with an open canopy, reaching up to 4 meters in height and about 3.5 meters in diameter. This domestic selection variety is characterized by moderate winter hardiness, high drought resistance, and vigorous growth. Fruit-bearing begins on the 3rd to 5th year after planting, with stable and high yields. The cherry is partially self-fertile; to increase yield, it is recommended to use pollinators such as Shalunyia, Podbelskaya cherry and Valerian Chkalov, Bigarro Burlat peach. The fruits of Melitopolskaya Dessertnaya cherry are large, single-seeded, round, weighing from 6 to 9 grams. Their color is dark red with a sheen, with a slight scar on the skin. The flesh is light red or pink, tender, with a refreshing sweet-tart dessert flavor and a slight wine note. The juice is colorless, and the stone is medium-sized. The taste evaluation reaches 5 points, making this variety especially attractive to consumers. For successful cultivation, Melitopolskaya Dessertnaya prefers sunny, open areas with fertile, light soil and regular moderate watering. The variety is resistant to diseases such as moniliosis and coccomyces, which simplifies care and reduces the risk of yield loss. Thanks to its low maintenance requirements and high adaptability to various growing conditions, this cherry is an excellent choice for both private gardeners and commercial cultivation.
