PIKOVAYA DAMA

The 'Pikovaia Dama' cherry variety is a medium-sized tree with a spreading canopy of medium density. This variety is characterized by an early-mid ripening period, with fruits maturing between June 6th and 10th. The tree requires a pollinator for successful fruiting and is drought-resistant, although its frost resistance is limited to -25°C, making it less suitable for the central regions.

The fruits of the 'Pikovaia Dama' cherry weigh about 8 grams and are distinguished by their unusual, attractive shape—broadly heart-shaped with a strongly elongated beak. The fruit coloration is dark red, and the juice is also dark red. The flesh is denser than average; the fruits are juicy and sweet, with a high vitamin C content—about 19 mg per 100 grams. The long pedicel and dry separation of the fruit ensure medium attachment strength, which contributes to good transportability of the berries.

The main advantages of the 'Pikovaia Dama' variety lie in its large, very attractive early-maturing fruits, which possess high taste and market qualities. The cherry is intended for table use and is characterized by high yield, reaching about 75-76 centners per hectare. The variety is recommended for cultivation in regions with a climate similar to Crimea and southern regions of Ukraine.
