Vitivnitsa cherry is a mid-season variety with large, uniform fruits ripening in mid-June. The fruits have a yellow base color with a red overlay, medium-thick skin, and a smooth surface. The flesh is dense, juicy, and sweet, confirmed by a high tasting score of 4.7 points. The fruit composition includes 16.2% sugars, 0.5% acids, and 14.1 mg% of vitamin C, making them not only tasty but also beneficial. Thanks to good transportability, Vitivnitsa cherry is suitable for harvesting and transportation over long distances.
Vitivnitsa trees are of medium size, fast-growing, with semi-upright and slightly spreading crowns of medium density. Leaves have an elliptical shape, are green, smooth, and matte. Flowers are large, white with a rose-like shape and five rounded petals, gathered in triple inflorescences. For successful fruiting, pollinators are required as the variety is not self-fruitful.
The Vitivnitsa variety is adapted for the North Caucasus region and is characterized by winter hardiness, allowing it to be grown in the climatic conditions of this area. The yield of the variety is on average 109 centners per hectare, making it promising for commercial cultivation. The origin of the variety is Crimea, however, it has been successfully adapted to other regions with suitable climatic conditions.
