Description
The 'Zgoda' cherry and sour cherry variety is a high-yielding early-ripening hybrid developed by the Donetsk Experimental Station for Horticulture. This variety was obtained by crossing the 'Griot Ostegaymsky' and 'Valeriy Chkalov' varieties. The trees are medium-sized with attractive wide-oval crowns and thick gray-brown branches. The fruits have a dark-red color, flattened-round shape, and weigh about 9-10 grams. The flesh is sweet, without acidity, with a distinct cherry-cherry aroma, and the stone is small and easily separates. The juice is red or dark-red. Trees begin fruiting on the 3rd-4th year after planting.
The 'Zgoda' variety is distinguished by high frost resistance and resistance to fungal diseases, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including western regions. Due to its excellent taste qualities, which received high sensory ratings, the cherry is suitable for both fresh consumption and various types of preservation. The ripening period falls in the last decade of June, allowing for an early harvest.
