Description
White creeping clover of the «Belogorskiy 1» variety is a multi-cut, early-maturing variety with high feed value. The plant is characterized by a low creeping bush with creeping stems 20–25 cm high, strong branching, and even foliation up to 45–50%. The flowers are white, and the period from the beginning of spring vegetation to the first cut is 51–60 days, which ensures rapid regrowth in spring and after cuts. The variety is distinguished by high yield: green mass 26-35 t/ha, hay 3-4 t/ha, and seeds 150-300 kg/ha.
«Belogorskiy 1» has good winter hardiness and moderate drought resistance, as well as relative resistance to lodging and main disease pathogens. It is resistant to waterlogging and low soil acidity, which allows growing it in various ecological conditions, including floodplain territories. Thanks to high longevity and long life, the variety successfully competes in grass mixtures with early-maturing cereals, such as meadow fescue and timothy.
This clover is widely used in feed and turf mixtures, providing quality nutrition for animals due to the high content of crude protein (about 20.6% in dry matter). The sowing rate is 4 kg/ha for seed sowing and 10–12 kg/ha for commercial purposes. Moreover, clover «Belogorskiy 1» does not require intensive care, grows well on various soil types and recovers quickly after mowing, which makes it an excellent choice for creating stable and productive grass covers.
