Description
Ternopilsky 2 is a variety of red clover, a perennial leguminous crop widely used in fodder production. Red clover is distinguished by its high forage quality and resistance to shaded areas, which does not affect its growth. To obtain quality fodder, frequent mowing is recommended. To increase yield and promote vigorous growth, this variety can be sown in combination with perennial grasses. Before sowing, it is recommended to harrow the soil, and the seed depth should be 1–2 cm, up to 3 cm in dry conditions. The sowing rate in pure form is 20–25 kg per hectare, and fertilization promotes more vigorous plant development. Red clover Ternopilsky 2 belongs to the species Trifolium pratense, which is found in Europe, Western and Central Asia, as well as North Africa. This herbaceous plant has stems ranging from 15 to 55 cm in height, branching upright stems, and trifoliate leaves with finely toothed, broadly ovate leaflets. The inflorescences are loose, spherical, and may be pink, white, or speckled. The fruit is a single-seeded, egg-shaped pod with seeds of yellowish-red or purple hue. In addition to its fodder use, clover possesses medicinal properties, including diuretic, sudorific, cholagogue, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory effects, making it a valuable plant in folk medicine. Variety Ternopilsky 2 requires proper agronomic practices to achieve maximum productivity. It is recommended to harrow the soil before and after sowing, and to adjust sowing rates and seed depth according to soil conditions. Due to its resistance to shade and ability to combine well with other grasses, this clover is suitable for diverse growing conditions. Its use in fodder production ensures high-quality hay and green mass, which is essential for livestock.
