EOS

The EOS hybrid clover variety is an early-maturing two-cut culture with synchronized regrowth, bred in 2005 by I.P. Leontyev, A.L. Zolotov, and A.D. Karasov. The plant features an upright stem 50-60 cm high with 6-7 internodes and weak branching. Leaves are trifoliate, small, oval, green, hairless, and without white spots. Inflorescences have a spherical loose shape and white-pink coloration with a short corolla. Seeds are small, heart-shaped, predominantly gray-green, occasionally black or yellow, with 1000 seeds weighing 0.7-1 g.

EOS is distinguished by high winter hardiness and is suitable for cultivation in various regions, including northern and central areas of Russia. The vegetative period from the beginning of spring regrowth to the first cut is 37-48 days. Bushes have medium branching and foliage coverage of about 35-40%, with yellow-green node coloration and a compressed raised rosette form. The variety boasts good yield: average green mass yield reaches 109.3 c/ha, hay - 87.5 c/ha, and seeds - 3.0-4.0 c/ha.

In addition to high productivity, EOS clover offers high-quality fodder base. In 100 kg of green mass, there are 20.5 fodder units and 2.7 kg of digestible protein, making it a valuable component for feeding agricultural animals. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including northern forest-steppe and northeast forest-steppe regions, confirming its adaptability and versatility in agricultural use.
