FALENSKY 1

Falenksy 1 is a late-maturing species of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) intended for one-cut harvesting, with the possibility of obtaining a second cut in wet years. The variety is predominantly composed of winter-type plants, which ensures high winter hardiness at the level of 92–99% over two years of use. The period from spring regrowth to flowering is 70–76 days, and to seed maturity is 115–117 days. Bushes are semi-spreading with tall stems (up to 80–115 cm in the first cut), medium coarseness, and high bushiness. Leaves are oval-shaped, weakly pubescent, with good foliation (43–50%). Seeds have an egg-shaped form and yellow-violet color; the mass of 1000 seeds is 1.7–2.0 g, and the average number of internodes is 8–9.

The variety is characterized by a maximum yield of dry matter up to 13 t/ha and seeds up to 4.4 c/ha. It has medium resistance to diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for agricultural production. To achieve the best results, it is recommended to cultivate Falensky 1 on weed-free, brown forest-median podzolic medium loamy soils with a pH level of 5.5–6.0, with mandatory autumn plowing.

The variety was registered in 1962 and recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Volga-Vyatka and Western Siberia regions. The breeder of the variety is the Federal Agrarian Scientific Center of the North-East named after N.V. Rudnitsky. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and adaptability to climatic conditions, Falensky 1 is widely used in agriculture to obtain quality feed raw materials.
