Description
FALEY is a hybrid clover (Trifolium hybridum L.) diploid variety intended for hay and pasture use. This medium-early maturing variety has a vegetative period from the start of growth to budding ranging from 50 to 73 days. The bush is semi-prostrate, which ensures good plant development and ease of harvesting. Stems are sparsely pubescent with light green nodes, giving the plant a neat appearance and contributing to its resistance to adverse conditions.
The leaves of the Faley variety have an oval and elliptical shape; they are sparsely pubescent, green, and soft to the touch. Stipules are oval-lanceolate with a pointed tip, also sparsely pubescent and light green. Inflorescences are loose spherical heads of pink-white color, providing the plant with decorativeness and making identification easier. Seeds are heart-shaped, varying in color from light green to dark green.
The Faley variety has medium yield of dry matter of about 52 centners per hectare, making it effective for feed production. It has been included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation since 1999 and is recommended for cultivation in all regions of the country. However, it should be noted that the variety is susceptible to clover scab, which requires preventive measures during cultivation. Overall, Faley is a reliable and productive hybrid clover variety suitable for hay and pasture lands.
