UFIMSKIY 1

UFIMSKIY 1 is a variety of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.), belonging to the legume grass group. This variety was registered in 1967 and bred by specialists of the Bashkir State Agrarian University. It is intended for cultivation mainly in the Urals region, including the Orenburg region, the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Chelyabinsk region. Red clover UFIMSKIY 1 belongs to late-maturing single-cut varieties, meaning the plant has a winter type of development and is used primarily for a single cut per season. Red clover is a perennial herbaceous plant with erect or creeping stems up to 100 cm high and trifoliate compound leaves. Its flowers are small, red, and gathered in head-like inflorescences. The plant is frost-resistant and moisture-loving, prefers weakly acidic and neutral soils, but cannot withstand prolonged flooding. For successful cultivation, crop rotation with weeding and winter cereal crops is recommended, as well as sowing under the cover of spring cereals. The sowing rate for the row method is 12–16 kg/ha, for wide-row sowing it is 4–6 kg/ha, and the sowing depth is 1–3 cm. UFIMSKIY 1 is used to obtain green fodder, hay, and seeds. Yield of green mass reaches 265 c/ha, hay — 60 c/ha, and seeds — 1.8 c/ha. In 100 kg of green mass, there is about 22.8 feed units and 3.0 kg of digestible protein, which makes this variety a valuable fodder plant. Due to its biological and agrotechnical characteristics, the variety is widely used in the north-eastern forest-steppe and northern forest-steppe zones, ensuring stable fodder raw materials for animal husbandry.
