Borisfen 380 MV — a mid-season corn hybrid with FAO 380, intended for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. The vegetation period is 118-120 days, ensuring optimal maturation under various climatic conditions. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity: in the southern steppe, it reaches 75-80 c/ha, in the northern steppe — 94-100 c/ha, and in the forest-steppe zone, grain yield may reach record levels of 143 c/ha, with silage mass yield of 690-700 c/ha. Borisfen 380 MV has high plant density, heat tolerance, and broad adaptability, making it resistant to adverse weather conditions and various soil types. The hybrid is resistant to root and stalk rots, as well as to head smut and stalk lodging, significantly reducing yield losses. Plant height is 210-220 cm, ear attachment height — 70-75 cm. Leaves and stems often remain green even at full maturity, making Borisfen 380 MV especially suitable for silage production. Grain is yellow, semi-pearled, with 16-18 rows of kernels per ear and red silk strands. Recommended plant density at harvest varies by region: 32-35 thousand plants/ha in the southern steppe, 38-40 thousand plants/ha in the northern steppe, and 42-50 thousand plants/ha in the forest-steppe zone. The hybrid negatively reacts to excessive planting density.
