Description
The grain is cream-toothed, up to semicreamy, with yellow or yellow-orange upper part coloration. The ear is weakly conical, 18-19 cm long, with 12-16 rows of kernels. The grain contains approximately 9% protein, 68.8% starch, 2.4% sugar, 4% fat, 1.25% fiber, and 0.87% ash, making it suitable for grain preparation. The hybrid has a favorable ratio of grain to vegetative parts and is resistant to lodging, southern gelsporeiosis, and powdery mildew. Average grain yields across different regions range from 30-53 c/ha, while silage mass yields may reach up to 47 t/ha.
Caterin 176 SV is recommended for planting at a stand density of 80-85 thousand per hectare under optimal moisture conditions and 65-75 thousand under suboptimal conditions. The hybrid quickly fills kernels and efficiently transmits moisture, facilitating timely harvest. It is successfully used in double and post-harvest crops, as well as in southern Russia. Due to its characteristics and disease resistance, this hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high yields under challenging climatic conditions.
