Description
The hybrid is characterized by high drought and heat tolerance, as well as good cold resistance. It is resistant to stem lodging, major diseases and pests, which ensures stable yields. DB Varta withstands prolonged plant stand and exhibits intensive grain moisture release, which contributes to good maturation and harvest. The hybrid positively responds to improved growing conditions, allowing high yields under optimal agronomic practices.
The hybrid can be grown in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions. The recommended plant population varies by region: 55-60 thousand plants/ha in the Steppe, 80 thousand plants/ha in the Forest-Steppe, and 90 thousand plants/ha in Polissia. The average yield in ecological trials during 2017-2019 was 7.45 to 9.33 t/ha at grain moisture content of about 14-19%. Maximum yield under irrigation reached 14.02 t/ha, confirming the hybrid’s high productivity under favorable conditions.

Dual-purpose hybrids: for silage and grain in all growing regions. These are "stay-green" type hybrids, meaning the plants remain green for a longer period. However, this does not affect the sugar, cellulose, and hemicellulose content, nor the degree of lignification of the plant... |
