The «Dobroto» corn hybrid by the Austrian company Saatbau is a balanced solution for farms aiming for a dual-purpose outcome: high-quality grain and substantial silage yields. With RAGT 2n (France) serving as the originator, the hybrid combines advanced genetics with adaptability to European agricultural standards.

Biological Traits and Resilience

The vegetation period spans 110–120 days. The hybrid’s primary advantage lies in its comprehensive pathogen resistance, which is essential for maintaining stand density throughout the season:

• Phytosanitary Barrier: High resistance to common smut and tolerance to helminthosporiosis, fusarium, and stalk rot. This protection minimizes plant mortality and yield quality loss under stress.
• Grain Structure: The dent-type grain provides excellent dry-down rates during maturity, significantly reducing post-harvest drying costs.

Sowing Recommendations

To maximize yields, Saatbau recommends adjusting planting density based on moisture availability and intensity of farming practices:

• In dryland or moderate moisture conditions: 50,000–65,000 plants per hectare.
• In favorable moisture conditions or under irrigation: 70,000–75,000 plants per hectare.
