The Dulkano corn hybrid, developed by the Ukrainian company RVA Ukraina, represents a specialized solution designed for both grain production and the popcorn market. As a three-way hybrid with an FAO rating of 90–1240, it offers growers the flexibility needed to diversify their harvest output while maintaining stable yields.

Agronomic Characteristics and Disease Resistance

With a maturity period of 120–140 days, Dulkano is suited for various climatic zones in Ukraine. The dent-type grain is prized for its processing qualities. One of the standout features of this hybrid is its robust genetic resistance to common corn pathogens, which significantly reduces the need for heavy chemical intervention:

• Proven resistance against common smut and stalk rot.

Dulkano exhibits significant adaptability in terms of plant density, allowing it to perform well in diverse soil conditions. Depending on available water resources and soil fertility, RVA Ukraina recommends the following plant populations:

• 45,000–50,000 plants/ha: Recommended for areas with moisture limitations.
• 50,000–55,000 plants/ha: Optimized for standard cultivation practices.
• 65,000–70,000 plants/ha: Suitable for stable, medium-potential environments.
• 75,000–80,000 plants/ha: Best for high-input, well-irrigated commercial farms.
