Optimal Density and Performance

My field management strategy for Fatal is strictly data-driven based on moisture availability. In areas with lower precipitation, sticking to 65,000–70,000 plants/ha ensures the crop isn't struggling for nutrients and moisture, resulting in a well-filled cob. In irrigated fields, increasing the density to 80,000–85,000 plants/ha significantly boosts the final yield. The stalks are robust and show excellent resistance to lodging, which makes the harvest phase much less stressful for the machinery operators.

Harvest and Maintenance Efficiency

From an operator's perspective, the standout feature of Fatal is its moisture release capability. It dries down efficiently, which allows for timely harvesting and reduces drying costs, a key factor in our bottom-line profitability. The grain quality remains high under standard agronomic protocols, and the crop responds well to nitrogen applications without becoming overly sensitive. Maintenance of the fields is straightforward; the hybrid fits well into standard crop protection programs developed by Mas Seeds.
