MAŠUK 185 MV — this is an early-maturing, two-row maize hybrid intended for grain and silage production. It is characterized by high yield and good drought resistance, making it especially suitable for regions with a limited growing season. The hybrid features rapid grain moisture reduction upon maturity, facilitating harvest and storage. Plants reach a height of 240–250 cm, with ears 18–20 cm long and medium anthocyanin stem coloration. The grain is dent-shaped, with upper yellow and lower red-orange coloring, and 1000-grain weight is approximately 180 g. MAŠUK 185 MV exhibits resistance to lodging and stem breakage below the ear, as well as to infection by dusty and bubble smut and stalk rot. However, the hybrid is susceptible to bacterial disease and corn borer, but resistant to southern helminthosporium. Nutrient content in the grain includes 8.04% protein, 70.57% starch, 2.02% sugar, 5.06% fat, 1.57% fiber, and 1.07% ash, making it valuable for both feed and food applications. Recommended plant density per hectare varies depending on moisture conditions: 70–80 thousand plants on dryland, 80–100 thousand under irrigation. The hybrid is well-adapted to southern regions and is registered in the State Register of Selection Achievements of Russia.
