Corn NEWTON is a simple two-line medium-early hybrid intended for grain and silage production at waxy maturity. This hybrid is characterized by good cold resistance and high plasticity, allowing successful cultivation in regions with a limited growing season, as well as in southern regions for grain production. Plants have an average height of 210-225 cm, a long ear with 16-18 rows of kernels with a flinty-toothed structure and yellow upper kernel color. The 1000-kernel weight is approximately 220 g, indicating high yield quality.

NEWTON exhibits drought resistance and basal lodging resistance, as well as stem breakage below the ear during the vegetative period. The hybrid shows pronounced remontancy — all leaves remain green until full grain maturity, which promotes stable biomass accumulation and improved silage quality. Additionally, the plant has low susceptibility to stalk rot, bacterial wilt, and fusarium, enhancing its disease resistance and reducing yield losses.

The yield of corn NEWTON in the Central Chernozem region reaches 60.0 c/ha, in the North Caucasus region — 57.1 c/ha, and in the Lower Volga region — 35.1 c/ha. The recommended plant population varies depending on growing conditions: on dryland — 60-70 thousand plants per hectare, on irrigation — up to 80-90 thousand plants per hectare. This hybrid is ideal for zones with sufficient but unstable moisture, ensuring a stable and high yield of grain and silage.
