RAGT PRETEXT

RAGT PRETEXT — a mid-early simple hybrid maize intended for grain production. Plants of this variety are tall, with strong anthocyanic pigmentation of the first leaf sheath and moderate anthocyanic pigmentation of the stem. Ears have moderate length and diameter, and ear stalks are also of moderate size. Grain is dent-shaped, with yellow coloring on both upper and lower parts. The average yield of the hybrid is approximately 78 centners per hectare in the Central Black Earth region and 75.7 centners per hectare in the Volga region. The hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance, rapid water release, and adaptability to growing conditions, allowing successful cultivation at various planting dates — from early to late optimal. Plant density at harvest depends on soil moisture, enabling adaptation of agronomy to specific climatic conditions. RAGT PRETEXT also exhibits high cold resistance and rapid initial growth, which is important for successful development in different regions. The hybrid is resistant to diseases, including fusarium, and has high resistance to lodging. The vegetation period is approximately 120–130 days. Recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. For seed storage, optimal temperature is +7–10°C with humidity not exceeding 10%.
