Description
The hybrid is resistant to lodging and stem breakage, ensuring yield preservation under adverse weather conditions. It demonstrates high resistance to major diseases, including resistance to southern gummy rot and moderate resistance to stalk rot. However, it is susceptible to ear bacterial blight, powdery mildew, and ear Fusarium. Pests such as the stem borer can cause significant damage, reaching damage levels of 78–88%.
ROSS 299 MV is adapted for cultivation in various regions, including the Central, Central Chernozem, Volga, and Ural regions of Russia, as well as in Ukraine’s Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie zones. The hybrid is resistant to cold, drought, and heat, making it suitable for different climatic zones. Recommended planting density varies from 50,000 to 90,000 plants per hectare depending on region and moisture conditions, optimizing yield potential, which can reach 11–12 t/ha under favorable conditions.
