The hybrid maize Sebastien is a medium-early three-line variety intended for grain production. It is included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region and is characterized by high yield — the average yield is 69.1 centners/ha, which is 39% higher than the standard, with a maximum yield reaching 108.4 centners/ha. The vegetation period of the hybrid is approximately 123 days, corresponding to a medium-early maturation period. The plant is tall with broad leaves, the ear is long and thick, the grain is intermediate type with yellow-orange coloration. The hybrid is resistant to stalk rot and corn borer, enhancing its reliability under various agroclimatic conditions. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is the anthocyanin pigmentation of certain plant parts: weak pigmentation of the first leaf sheath and silk, moderate pigmentation of roots at the stem, and strong pigmentation of the grain core. The tassel flowers early and has moderate spikelet density with long primary lateral branches. These morphological traits contribute to good plant development and grain formation. For seed treatment, it is recommended to use Maxim XL, Komandor Grand, and Phytospectr, which ensure protection and improve germination. The hybrid Sebastien is suitable for cultivation in regions with moderate climate and provides a stable yield of high-quality grain. Due to its characteristics, it is a profitable choice for farmers focused on grain production with good resistance to diseases and pests.
