Description
Plants of the Shkval hybrid reach a height of 230–290 cm, have 14–16 leaves on the main stem, and are characterized by high leafiness. The ears are cylindrical or slightly conical, 20–25 cm long, attached at a height of 75–100 cm. The grain rows number 12–16, with 36–42 kernels per row. The kernels are bright yellow, dent-shaped, with a thin red stalk. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 260 to 330 g, and the grain yield reaches 83%. The starch content is approximately 72.5%, protein — 11.0%
The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to lodging, drought, major diseases, and pests, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions. It develops rapidly in early vegetative stages, demonstrates quick green mass accumulation, and responds well to improved growing conditions. The recommended planting density ranges from 55,000 to 80,000 plants per hectare depending on the region. Due to its combination of high productivity, resistance, and adaptability, Shkval is a reliable choice for agricultural enterprises seeking high-quality grain.
