SILICIA

SILICIA — this is an early-maturing corn (Zea mays L.) hybrid, intended for grain and silage production. It is characterized by medium plant height, narrow or medium leaves, and a long, thick, slightly conical ear with intermediate kernel type, closer to starchy. Kernels have a yellow upper part and yellow-orange lower part, indicating high product quality. The vegetative period is approximately 149 days, making the hybrid suitable for regions with moderate climates. SILICIA seeds are ideal for farmers seeking reliable and productive varieties adapted to growing conditions in Ukraine and the Central region of Russia. The hybrid exhibits high yield — average grain yield reaches 94.1 centners per hectare, which is 32.7% higher than standard benchmarks, and maximum yields in individual farms exceeded 106 centners per hectare. Grain moisture at harvest is around 25.7%, facilitating storage and processing. The plant shows good resistance to ear Fusarium and moderate protection against stalk borer, reducing yield losses and enhancing quality. Morphological features include anthocyanin coloration of the first leaf sheath from moderate to strong, weak or absent root coloration on the stem, and weak silk and glume coloration. The tassel has medium tassel density with long, slightly curved lateral branches. These characteristics contribute to good plant development and yield formation. SILICIA is a versatile hybrid successfully applied in various agro-climatic conditions, ensuring stable and high yield performance.
