Description
The hybrid is characterized by high productivity: potential grain yield is 140-145 c/ha, and silage yield — 560-750 c/ha. Plants reach a height of 240-250 cm, are weakly bushy, and have approximately 17 leaves on the main stem. Ears of length 21-23 cm, nearly cylindrical in shape, are attached at a height of 95-100 cm. Grain is yellow, cream-colored, toothed type, with a 1000-grain weight of approximately 250-260 g. The number of rows of kernels on the ear — 16, with 36-40 kernels per row. Red stalk is a distinctive morphobiological feature.
Sokolov 407 MV responds well to application of mineral fertilizers, which contributes to increased yield. The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to lodging, cold tolerance, drought resistance, and resistance to major pests and diseases, receiving maximum scores — 9 out of 9, in these parameters. Thanks to these qualities and good early growth, the hybrid ensures balanced technological parameters in row crops, making it one of the best options for farmers working in steppe zone conditions.
