Description
Field Experience with «Tiador» Hybrid
Working with seeds from «NVP Agro-Rytm» gives a clear advantage when it comes to predictability. «Tiador» is a simple hybrid that doesn't require overly complex agronomic schemes, yet it consistently delivers reliable results. As a grower, I particularly value the dent-type kernel, which has excellent dry-down properties. This saves significant costs on grain drying at the end of the season, directly impacting the bottom line.
Disease and Pest Resistance
The standout feature of this hybrid is its overall plant health. During the 110–120 day growth cycle, we consistently observe high resistance to the most common local challenges:
- Phytopathology: Resistance to helminthosporium and stalk rot allows us to optimize fungicide applications, reducing input costs without compromising plant vitality.
- Pests: The resistance to the European corn borer is impressive. The stalks remain strong until harvest, significantly reducing losses from lodging that often plague other varieties.
- Smut Resistance: Both loose and boil smut are rarely an issue with «Tiador», as its genetic profile offers robust protection even in humid conditions.
Performance and Management
This hybrid is purpose-built for grain production. The maturation is uniform, which makes the harvest process much more efficient. For a combine operator, «Tiador» is easy to handle; the ears remain intact until harvest, and the dent grain threshes cleanly without requiring extreme combine settings. With an FAO of 90–1240, it fits perfectly into our climatic zones.
For me, «Tiador» is the ultimate «workhorse.» It provides a straightforward, low-risk experience with clear results at the scale. It is a solid choice for any operation that prioritizes consistency and stability in yield, regardless of variable field conditions.

Corn hybrids are classified by maturity groups and by the FAO number. All corn hybrids are distributed according to the FAO scale. Under Central European conditions, a difference of 10 FAO units between hybrids results in a 1-2 day difference in their maturity. The higher the FAO... |

Dual-purpose hybrids: for silage and grain in all growing regions. These are "stay-green" type hybrids, meaning the plants remain green for a longer period. However, this does not affect the sugar, cellulose, and hemicellulose content, nor the degree of lignification of the plant... |
