Description
The hybrid maize Tifenn is a high-yielding mid-season variety with a vegetation period of 105-115 days and maturity unit (FAO) 220. It is characterized by resistance to smut and lodging, ensuring reliable yields even under adverse conditions. Plants reach a height of 250-255 cm, have a strong stem and well-developed root system with vigorous early growth. The elongated ear contains 12-14 rows of kernels, each row with 30-32 cream-colored, yellow-orange, dent-type kernels, with a 1000-kernel weight of 320-340 g.
Tifenn is intended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones, with recommended plant stand density prior to harvest: 70-75 thousand/ha in steppe and 80-90 thousand/ha in forest-steppe for grain, and 95-105 thousand/ha for silage. Potential dry grain yield reaches 90-107 ц/ha, and silage yield — 175-187 ц/ha. The hybrid demonstrates high drought resistance and tolerance to major maize diseases, including smut (Ustilago maydis), helminthosporiosis (Helminthosporium spp) and fusarium (Fusarium spp).
To enhance productivity and correct micronutrient deficiencies in maize Tifenn, it is recommended to use a complex chelated fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc, boron, iron, molybdenum, as well as B-group vitamins, amino acids, peptides, and polysaccharides. The application rate is 1-3 liters/ha, applied twice during the vegetation period, ensuring easy nutrient availability and promoting optimal crop development.
