Ushits'kyi 167 SV

Ushits'kyi 167 SV — an early-maturing corn hybrid with a vegetation period of 100–110 days, suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polesie, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions, as well as in the Republic of Belarus. The plant is tall, reaching a height of 200–220 cm, and does not branch. The ear is cylindrical, 18–20 cm long, attached at a height of 70–80 cm, and contains 14–16 rows of kernels, with 35–37 kernels per row. The stalk is red, the kernels are yellow, cream-colored with a toothed shape, and weigh 240–260 g per 1000 kernels.

The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to adverse factors: lodging resistance is rated at 9 points, cold resistance — 8.5 points, drought and resistance to major diseases — 9 points, resistance to pest damage — 8 points. Grain yield reaches 11.0–11.5 t/ha, and silage yield — 37.5–52.0 t/ha. Corn responds well to improved growing conditions and exhibits high kernel moisture loss, which facilitates effective use in feed purposes.

In Ukraine, corn is one of the most important feed crops, providing livestock with concentrated feed, silage, and green mass. Thanks to the introduction of new hybrids and agronomic technologies, such as Ushits'kyi 167 SV, corn production has significantly increased. In recent years, there has been a trend toward expanding planting areas in the Forest-Steppe region, linked to climate changes and the need to cultivate drought- and stress-tolerant crops. Ushits'kyi 167 SV has proven effective under these conditions, ensuring stable and high yields.
