MHR Goliat

MHR Goliat fodder beet is a medium-maturing variety with a vegetation period of about 145 days, registered in 2020. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 1050–1300 ц/ha, and drought resistance, ensuring stable harvest even under adverse weather conditions. The root is egg-shaped or oval, with a yellow-orange underground part and green above-ground part. The root is buried in the soil to 40–70% of its height, making the variety suitable for mechanized harvesting. The flesh is white, juicy, with increased dry matter content (about 12.5–13%) and sucrose, improving its nutritional value. MHR Goliat is characterized by good root and leaf growth, leaf mass yield reaching 255–265 ц/ha. It exhibits high resistance to major fodder beet diseases such as rhizomania, cercosporosis, ramulariosis, and rust, reducing yield losses and improving product quality. Additionally, the variety contains increased levels of carotene, which is particularly beneficial for feeding horses and other animals. The beet can be stored until February, allowing for prolonged use after harvest. For sowing, the recommended seeding rate is 15–20 кг/ha with seed depth of 2–4 cm depending on soil type. Optimal sowing dates are mid-April to early May, and row spacing is 45–60 cm. Seed packaging is available in 1 kg and 150 g bags.
