Description
Record-Poly fodder beet is a high-yielding Polish-bred variety intended for feeding various farm animals, including sheep, horses, cows, pigs, and poultry. The roots of this variety have a cylindrical or cylindrical-conical shape and a rich red color. The average weight of the roots is 5–6 kg, with only 40% of the root buried in the soil, which facilitates harvesting and keeps the beet clean even during manual harvesting. The variety is characterized by high yield — 1000 to 1300 centners per hectare — and resistance to bolting and most diseases.
Record-Poly is distinguished by its high sugar content (16–17%), carotene, and protein (up to 7 g/kg), making it especially nutritious and appealing to animals. The vegetation period is approximately 145 days, corresponding to a medium-late maturity. For sowing, use a rate of 10–20 kg of seeds per hectare with row spacing of 60–70 cm and plant spacing of 15–20 cm. Sowing should be conducted 10–12 days after the start of field work to avoid premature flowering. Plants require regular applications of nitrogen and potassium fertilizers, as well as weeding and thinning, although the crop is generally low-maintenance.
Record-Poly beet is suitable for both manual and mechanical harvesting, with roots easily pulled and remaining clean. Under proper storage conditions, the harvest retains its quality for up to 5 months, allowing for extended use in feeding rations. Seed packaging is typically 50 grams, and the country of origin is Poland. This variety is a reliable and effective solution for farmers seeking to provide animals with quality, nutritious feed.
