Field Experience with Axylaris Extra: Systemic Crop Protection

In high-intensity wheat production, the choice of fungicide often determines the final yield margin. Axylaris Extra, developed by Solantis Ukraine, has proven to be a reliable component in our crop protection strategy. By combining thiophanate-methyl (benzimidazoles) and epoxiconazole (triazoles), this systemic fungicide provides both an immediate curative effect and long-lasting protection against common fungal threats.

Operational Performance and Application

In the field, the suspension concentrate formulation is highly convenient for tank mixing. It distributes evenly throughout the spray solution without clogging nozzles, ensuring uniform coverage of the crop canopy. Its systemic nature allows the active ingredients to penetrate leaf tissues rapidly, protecting the plant from within, which is crucial during periods of rapid vegetative growth.

• Spectrum of Control: We rely on Axylaris Extra to manage a broad range of pathogens, including eyespot (cercosporella), various leaf spots, brown rust, and powdery mildew. Its efficacy against Fusarium head blight is particularly notable, making it an essential tool during the critical heading stage of winter wheat.
• Dosage Efficiency: With an application rate of 0.4–0.6 L/ha, the product provides an excellent balance between cost and efficacy, allowing for efficient pest management even in high-pressure scenarios.

As a Class 2 hazard product, handling requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and monitoring environmental conditions during application. Despite these requirements, the consistency of Axylaris Extra in preventing severe disease outbreaks makes it a staple for our wheat production, reducing the need for emergency re-spraying and ensuring a healthier final harvest.
