Systemic crop protection: Field experience with Furil fungicide

When heading out to the field in spring, the priority is to deal with winter crop diseases before they eat away at yield potential. Furil, produced by the Cherkasy-based 'Fabryka Ahrokhimikativ', has firmly established itself in my arsenal as a reliable systemic product based on tebuconazole. I choose it whenever comprehensive protection for rapeseed and cereals is needed.

Field application and dosage

The emulsion concentrate formulation is extremely convenient for preparing tank mixes. The product dissolves perfectly and does not clog sprayer nozzles, which saves the operator a lot of stress during peak seasons. A dosage of 0.5–1 L/ha allows for a flexible approach: if the disease pressure is moderate, you can save on costs without compromising quality; during epiphytotic years, we use the maximum rate.

Effectiveness against a spectrum of pathogens

The main advantage of Furil is its systemic action. Tebuconazole penetrates tissues quickly, stopping the development of powdery mildew on barley and wheat, and most importantly, it effectively manages Fusarium head blight. For rapeseed, I use it as a base against phoma and alternaria — the product effectively halts the pathogen, preventing premature pod shattering. We stop treatments 30 days before harvest, which is crucial for compliance and product safety.
