Systemic inhibition of fungal mitosis to protect winter cereal crops.
Description
Systemic Protection for Cereals: Mechanism of Carbendazim in "Kazim"
The core active ingredient in the "Kazim" fungicide is carbendazim, a classic systemic compound from the benzimidazole group. Unlike contact products, this substance rapidly penetrates plant tissues, moving acropetally (from roots to the top) via the xylem. This mobility is critical for controlling pathogens located within stems and tillering nodes, areas often inaccessible to standard contact fungicides.
Pathogen Suppression Mechanism
Technically, the product works by specifically inhibiting beta-tubulin synthesis in fungi. This blocks the pathogen's cell division (mitosis), leading to an immediate halt in mycelial growth. "Kazim" is highly effective against a wide range of diseases:
- Cercosporella and Fusarium root rots affecting the root zone.
- Powdery mildew and septoria developing on the vegetative mass.
- Helminthosporium, which disrupts the photosynthetic activity of the leaves.
The suspension concentrate formulation ensures the high stability of the working solution and uniform coverage of the leaf surface. With an application rate of 0.5–1.0 L/ha, the product maintains the necessary concentration of active substance to curb infection for 30 days after the final application.
Application Guidelines
Maximum efficacy is achieved with two treatments on winter wheat and barley crops. Its systemic action allows "Kazim" to be used both as a curative treatment at the first signs of disease and as a preventive barrier. Classified under toxicity class 2, it requires strict adherence to regulations when using sprayers that ensure consistent droplet sizing for deep penetration into the crop canopy.
