A systemic azoxystrobin-based fungicide that blocks pathogen development and extends the vegetative period of crops.
Description
Technological potential of Azoxystrobin in Tazer®
The efficiency of the Tazer® fungicide is grounded in azoxystrobin, a strobilurin class active ingredient. Unlike contact-based agents, this compound exhibits systemic translaminar activity. In practice, this means the molecule, upon hitting the leaf surface, not only shields the exterior tissues but rapidly penetrates the leaf blade, redistributing through intercellular spaces. This negates the challenge of incomplete coverage during application and provides resistance to rainfall wash-off.
Pathogen suppression mechanism
Tazer® effectively blocks mitochondrial respiration in fungal cells by interrupting electron transfer in the cytochrome chain. The resulting energy deficit leads to immediate cessation of mycelial growth and spore formation. A key feature of the product is its physiological impact on the crop: the extension of photosynthetic activity, often referred to as the "greening effect." The plant remains in the vegetative phase longer, which is critical for grain filling in wheat or barley, and for head development in sunflowers.
Technical application parameters
- Control Spectrum: The fungicide shows high technical efficacy against a complex of leaf spots (Septoria, Helminthosporium, Alternaria) as well as dangerous rots (white rot, grey rot, Phomopsis, Phoma).
- Systemicity and Dosage: The application rate ranges from 0.5 to 1.0 L/ha, depending on the phytosanitary status of the crop and the type of pathogen. The systemic nature of the action allows the product to halt latent infections at early stages of development.
- Safety Regulations: Classified under hazard class 3, the product is suitable for standard professional use. For optimal results, 1–2 applications per season are recommended, with a pre-harvest interval of 20–30 days.
Produced under Nufarm standards at facilities in Chile, Tazer® delivers predictable results in intensive farming systems for soybeans, cereals, and industrial crops. The systemic architecture of this fungicide makes it a robust tool for protecting against a wide range of fungal diseases across diverse climatic zones.
