Description
The Donetsky Pervenets gooseberry variety is an early-ripening type, maturing in the second half of June. The berries of this variety are large, weighing from 3.8 to 6 grams, with an elongated-elliptical or round-oval shape and dark green or light green color. The flesh is juicy, green, with a sour-sweet taste, making the fruit especially attractive to consumers. When fully ripe, the berries do not drop off, retain their flavor and external qualities well, facilitating harvest and storage. The Donetsky Pervenets bushes are medium- to tall-growing, with moderate density and strong branches covered with large or single long thorns. The leaves are large, matte, light green in color. The variety is characterized by high frost resistance, tolerating temperatures down to -34.4 °C, as well as good drought and heat tolerance. This makes it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, particularly in areas with moderate moisture and slightly acidic or neutral soils, preferably chernozems. Donetsky Pervenets is distinguished by high yield — up to 80 centners per hectare or 4.5–6 kg per bush. The variety is low-maintenance, prefers sunny locations and fertile, loose soils. Due to its disease resistance and good winter hardiness, this gooseberry variety is a reliable choice for gardeners aiming to obtain a high-quality and flavorful harvest early.
