Granular insecticide for protecting sunflowers, corn, and beet from soil pests during sowing.
Description
Efficient Root System Protection
When you walk through the fields after sowing, the last thing you want to see is sparse germination due to soil pests. For my sunflowers, corn, and forage beet, I’ve switched to “Diagro Start” by “Zemelnuy Capital.” This is a granular insecticide based on chlorpyrifos that works exactly where other products fail — directly in the root zone.
Application Experience and Dosage
The main advantage of this product is how it's applied. It’s not a sprayer that requires tank mix preparation; it’s granules meant for soil treatment. With a consumption rate of 10–30 kg per hectare, the product is applied directly into the furrow during sowing. This saves time and allows me to focus on seed placement precision.
- Pest Control: The primary targets are wireworms and cutworms. The product has both contact and systemic action. If a pest touches the granule or feeds on treated soil, the effect is immediate.
- Efficiency: Only one application per season is required. This reduces the number of machine passes, effectively preventing soil compaction.
- Performance: On corn and sunflower crops, I’ve noticed that plant loss has decreased significantly. The root system develops without the stress of mechanical damage, which is vital during early growth phases.
Equipment maintenance when using “Diagro Start” is minimal. It is crucial to monitor the seed drill dispensers to ensure even granule distribution. There are no clogged nozzles or dissolution issues common with liquid insecticides. For me, this is a choice for stability: apply to the soil, seal with moisture, and forget about subsurface pests for the rest of the season start.
